Walt Disney World/Epcot/Sea World Planner - Need Help
This is my page for organizing an upcoming vacation. I will probably document the trip on my site http://www.mikebenton.org/ My blog was originally started so I could receive feedback on some short stories I was writing, well I didn't receive enough feedback fast enough (my fault, bad marketing) so eventually I started posting thoughts and things I found on the internet that were interesting.Anyways, the stories come in parts, I have only written the beginnings of the stories and the deal works like this: Whichever stories are like the most I will continue, at each major installment I will wait for the most like story to finish. Pretty simple but I get to find out what people like. If you want to read them they are here http://www.mikebenton.org/the-stories/
ABOUT the trip. I would like some input, my wife has never been so I don't want to take anything for granted. What are things people remember the most? Walt Disney World and Epcot Center, and Sea World. Probably spend a week and some days there. It has been about 10 years since I was there (I was a teenager then) Sea World will also be part of the trip.So if anyone has any ideas please let me know....
Before the Trip
- Get info from recent visitors
- Decide on places I would like to see
- Find what else is there, out of the way sites
- Best places to Eat?
- Best Hotels
- Best times for rides
- Rent a car? or use local transportation? How about renting a segway?!

We go to Orlando every spring. We have a 10, 8 & 4 year old. We found Sea World to be a huge waste of money. The Shamu show was filled up the tree times we tried to get in so we left never having seen the show!
The biggest bang for your buck for thrill rides is Universal Studios (go on the Spider Man thing-its amazing!).Epcot is pretty good (the attractions are a little more science oriented). The food is better in Epcot than the Magic kingdom. If you have never been to the Magic Kingdom it is a must for tradition's sake. Our little one was tall enough to go on everything at the Magic Kingdom except Space Mountain. Fast pass Space Mountain right when you get in to the park before you do anything else!MGM Studios is ok. There are only a couple of thrill rides and mostly shows. We haven't gone to Animal Kingdom yet. There is awesome shopping at the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall very close to Downtown Disney (by taxi).Hope some of this helps! Comment by szellers Wed, 25 Apr 2007 @ 11:21 AM PDTI disagree with szellers. My wife and I like SeaWorld best. It takes about a day to do Sea World. A day to do Magic Kingdom, Two days to see Epcot. (Assuming just two adults.) I really like Bush Gardens in Tampa.
However, if you like roller coasters, szellars is spot on. Universal is where you want to go.Disney's Paradise Island at night is very cool: Disney + drinking. We have a time share in Orlando, but staying on the Disney property is very nice. There are shuttles to the Disney parks, which is very convenient.Have fun… Comment by Chris Davis Fri, 4 May 2007 @ 05:45 AM PDTThanks everyone for your comments!
